Which way should I plant oblique cordons?

When I position my cordons, I intend to plant them in a line running north-south. Should the cordons point north or south?

Answer:
Oblique cordons are planted at an angle of about 45 degrees or so - just like a branch on a free-standing tree.
If your planting is on flat land then it is best for the cordons to be aligned north-south (as you suggest) and pointing northwards.
This means the length of the cordon is fully exposed to the south to get the most benefit from the sun. In other words, pretend the cordons are reclining on deck chairs facing the sun.
