Autumnalis Rosea is a pink-flowered small bushy flowering cherry tree, with light pink semi-double blossoms. It is considered an improved form of the original Autumnalis White.

Autumnalis Rosea is rightly named for its unusual flowering habit. Whilst the main flush of blossom occurs in mid-spring as you might expect, the first few blossoms appear the preceding autumn, and in a mild winter the tree may be dotted with blossoms from December to March, a heartening sight in the depths of winter.

Whilst the tree is never laden with blossom in the way some other ornamental cherries are, the exceptionally long flowering period, at a time when not much else is in bloom, makes Autumnalis Rosea an excellent choice for winter interest.
