Isfahan is an unusual quince from Iran. Unlike most quinces, it is naturally sweet and can be eaten fresh from the tree.

Like all quinces it is also a useful fruit for the kitchen - use it for jams, jellies, and for flavouring spirits.

Isfahan also has ornamental appeal, with attractive spring blossom, green/grey leaves, and the trees often have an elegant appearance - and of course quinces are some of the most beautiful fruits when hanging on the tree in the autumn.

Growing and Training

As with all quinces, plant in a warm shelted location in full sun. Keep pruning to a minimum since next year's fruit tends to be borne on the tips of the summer growth.
